Free pattern for Valentine's Day 2015

I have made a pattern for this little embroidery and you can download it for free.  Just find the picture on the right, click on it and save it to your computer so you can print it off.  It is approximately 2" x 2" or  5cm x 5cm.  I have made a PDF pattern for this also, so if you have problems printing it from the picture, please email me (address in profile) and I can email you the PDF.
Happy stitching!

I made a little embroidery, maybe for Valentine's Day.  It's 2" x 2", so only very small.
I think that some of my colour choices could have been better.  I was thinking I might try again in different colours, or just do something else completely different.

I'll try and put the pattern up on here in the next couple of days as a free pattern.  It doesn't take long to stitch!

I have to stop taking photos with my iphone and use my proper camera.  The details are much clearer with the good camera.

Just a reminder!

Just a reminder to check the email address you have with Paypal if you are ordering a pattern...sometimes I get an email address which isn't recognised and I worry the person ordering will think I am being lazy and haven't sent them their order!  So just check the email address Paypal has for you is the same one you want your patterns to go to!  My email address is here for anyone wishing to contact me.  Otherwise you can leave a message at my shop on bigcartel here if that is easier.  A big thank you to everyone who has ordered patterns from me :)

What I am working on...

I am working on a few different bits and pieces and as usual it's all going slowly.  Maybe I was a snail in another life.  It's school holidays and I have been having the kids over, and that means I don't concentrate on my 'stuff'.  I have still managed to do a painting or drawing every day though, and now I have 20 postcard size artworks, which makes me happy.

I printed out a photo of my niece onto a sheet of canvas and I am stitching away at that. It's the same way I did the figures in the photo at the top of the blog.  It's a little time consuming getting the needle through the canvas but I will push on with it and ignore the pain!  I have nerve damage in my right hand which means it is painful to stitch, but I love embroidery, and just thinking of the end result makes it worth it.

I have a very old comfortable pair of shorts that are threadbare in places, so on the left is my attempt at sashiko - mending Japanese style.  I used blue DMC and stitched over a patch of patterned fabric.  The embroidery shapes on the right I did a while ago before I learned about sashiko.  There is another small patch of mending just under the pocket.

January 2015

No resolutions for 2015.  I don't trust myself to see them through, so rather than be disappointed in myself, I will just go with the flow in 2015.

I have been spending a lot of time on instagram lately and I am finding lots of artistic and crafty inspiration on there.  I have done a postcard size painting or drawing every day so far.  I wonder how long I will keep that going.  There is so much amazing art on instagram, I have to be careful not to spend all my time looking and not painting.  Also I am realising I quit too easily and have way too much negative self talk.  I am going to just try to enjoy the process and see if I make any progress or discover anything about myself while I'm at it.  And instead of tearing up anything I'm not happy with, I'm going to keep it to look back on and learn from.

I'm still deciding whether I'll post photos of what I'm painting on here or not.  Maybe....
In the meantime here are some photos I've taken out and about over the last month...including
some beautiful blue coloured jelly fish, which I've never seen before here on the mid north coast.  Many have been washed up on to the shore, but they are also in the river.  They really are a wonderful blue.
